Textual Notes
What Stevenson read as BQṢ is certainly BQN. He misread the horn of Q as the right stroke of Ṣ. The meaning of QN here is difficult. Property is usually always found in the plural QN(Y)N. Furthermore, I am grateful to Małgorzata Sandowicz (personal communication) for reading the line 3 as lu2.Ar-ba-a-a "Arabians", which I agree better reflects the signs. Here Arabians are paying in herds a debt, which was assessed on a silver standard. Assessing a debt on a silver standard for traveling groups is more appropriate than using a barley or date standard, which is reserved for the sedintary folk.
