Textual Notes
The stamp seal is damaged (chipped) at the end of the first register. The letter read as L is better read as Y, not only does this solve the etymological problem with the older reading, LQWSˁNL, but it fits the regionally specific onomasticon. Consider the name QWSˁNY in the Idumean evidence and ˁNY element is common from Syria through North Arabia. As for the date of the object, the script on the seal is not indicative. Seals may have been legacy items, used for generations (see recently Garrison and Henkelman 2020). Furthermore, the seal may use mater lectionis, which
