To my lords Yedanyah, ˀÛryah and the priests of Yahô the god, Mattan son of Yešobyah (and) Berekyah son of [...];
your servant Maˁûzyah. The welfare of my lord[s, may the god (of heaven) seek after abundantly at all times and] (may) ⸢you be⸣ in favor ⸢befo⸣re
the Go⸢d⸣ of Heaven. And now, when Vidranga the garrison commander arrived at Abydos he imprisoned me because of 1 dyer’s stone which
they found stolen in the hand of the merchants. Finally, Ṣe⸢ḥa⸣ˀ and Ḥôr, servants of ˁAnanî, intervened with Vidranga
and Ḥornûfî, with the help of the God of Heaven, until they rescued me. Now, behold they are coming there to you. You, look after them--
whatever they desire. And (any) thing which Ṣeḥaˀ \(and) Ḥôr/ shall ⸢se⸣ek of you (m.p.), you stand by them, so that
they shall not find (6) a bad thing (7) about you (m.p.). ⸢It is known⸣ to you (m.p.) that Ḥ⸢nû⸣m is against us since Ḥananyah has been in Egypt until now.
And whatever you (m.p.) do for Ḥôr, [y]ou are doing for [...]. Ḥôr is a servant of Ḥananyah. You, dispose of from our houses
goods according to what your hand finds. Give to him without reserve. He is your responsibility! I am sending (word) to you. He
said to me, “Send a letter ahead of me.” [Per]haps (there is) much lacking, (so) accounting for him is in the house of ˁAnanî. Whatever you do
for him shall not be hidden from ˁAnanî.
To my lords Yedanyah, ˀÛryah and the priests, and the Jews; your ser[vant] Maˁûzyah son of Natan.
