General Notes
According to Nollé, "im Oktober 1964 bei dem Dorf Aksakal/Distrikt Bandirma als Spolie an einem byzantinishcen Grab gefunden" (p.11). Neither the report of Dupont-Sommer via Dolunay (p. 7) nor Mellink (p. 148) make it clear who discovered the stele nor its context. Mellink notes that in response to the discoveries "A further investigation of the necropolis is being planned."
