Textual Notes
unclear if the traces on the “verso” are erasures or damage, purhaps an address line exposed? The phrase “if not” appears frequently in letters and contracts and judicial oaths. This is not in the hand of any other written judicial oath. due to the poor stated of the verso, perhaps this is a letter and the visible text is actually the verso. Alternatively, this could be a memorandum. Possible joins: The hand, stylus and line spacing of B/AM x 434, 18 is similar, but the palimpsest on the back of that fragment suggests that it does not belong here.*1* *1*B/AM x 394 p, 10 (not edited here), which reads [...]נח◦[...] is very similar also, but the letters are slightly too large to state with certainty that it belongs to the same document.
