Textual Notes
One is tempted to read עבדמלקרת or עבדבל but the fourth letter is clearly not מ, eleminating עבדמלקרת, and reading two different forms of ב in the same name is unlikely. For a similar א, compare Syene 14-02-155-04/03.
Note the looped head of the ב, which is unlike the small single stroked semi-circle of many of the Elephantine labels, and unlike the Phoenician-Aramaic form on Syene 11-2-73-2=2
The expected Phoencian spelling is עבדאלמ (Benz, 149), but on Elephantine is known a form עבדל (P. 11421) Benz, 154 and Lidzbarski no. 17. An עבדלא (ˁAbd-ella) is also know in the phoenician script from Elephantine, Lidzbarski nos. 12 and 29 (with discussion). See further KAI 17.2 and discussion in that commentary.
