On the 4th day of Marzeḥ, in the 14th year of the people of Ṣidon, it was deemed good by the Sidonians in the assembly to crown
ŠMˁBˁL, son of MGN, whom the community elected over the house of the god and over the building of the courtyard,
with a golden crown worth 20 darics, because he built the courtyard of the house of the god, and he achieved all
which was incumbent upon him in service; for the men who have been electedby us to write this resolution upon the house
of the god, upon a chiselled stele, and they shall erect it in the portico of the house of the god, in public view, to name the community
as caretaker. For this stele, they shall withdraw from the silver of the god Baˁal-Ṣidon 20 drachmae,
in order that the Ṣidonians will know that the community knows to compensate exactly the men who did
service in public view of the community.
