Textual Notes
Commentary: Picture “Taf. 34b” appears to show writing on the left side of the jar. This inscription Röllig studies as no. 24. Aramaic: Reading follows Röllig. The ר is in doubt. It looks like a פ. The initial נ could also be פ, according to Röllig. It seems to me that Röllig may have misread his photographs and O 2314 was not edited because the large piece O 2870 is clearly one solid fragment and not two. Phoenician hand 1 ا1. [...]◦ 2. [...]⸢ש⸣ודי 3. [...]◦{ב|פ}ת שנת hand 2 vacat 4. לאדרבעל 5. בנ פבס Aramaic 1. נערמנ Perhaps read שבת and translate as a name. Cf. the name in Old South Arabian (HALOT שבתי).
