cv 5: OLD NOTE: {על חני is written sandhi. The name Ḥannî is known from WDSP 5.8, but not yet from Elephantine. Perhaps it is a nickname (so too Dušek, CHANE 30, 188) and probably a shortening of Ḥanan or Ḥananyah, both of which are common at Elephantine. One is tempted to read חפי "(the god) Ḥapî," but without attestation in Aramaic, this remains speculative. }
