Textual Notes
L. sees these as two separate compositions: a text on the cc side and a palimpsest on the cv. The hand writting is the same on both.
Doubful, but following Lozachmeur.
cv 2: The ח in נח is clear in the new photographs. The spacing is questionable and may read זינח◦... which produces an impossible reading or an otherwise unattested foreign name. This is, to my knowledge, the only occurrence of Noaḥ outside of biblical literature and its derivative traditions.
cv 3: The word בר is often written as though it were a ligature with the ר’s head stroke is only slightly accentuated. The word Šylm is either a misspelling (so Lozachmeur), or a foreign name of unknown origin.
cv 4: The י is certain. Alternatively, but unlikely, read as a scribal error for צבו ליהב (metathesis ה < > ב), which may be a second language learner’s idiom for צבו למנתנ “they desired to give.”
