See desc notes ln 1. question about ˀbWhy. is it a Y? The reading is clearly אבוה "her father" ln 2. restore LBŠY "the garments of the gods of Egypt". Lit interpretation: for the clothes of the gods as a literary trope see Quack/Hoffmann pp. 228, 230 from "Die Heimkehr der Göttin." One also wonders if the clothes scene in "Naneferkasokar und die Babylonier" is relevant. See Q/H's remarks p. 176--not sure. Ln. 3 restore QD[M ...]. Ln. 6: either BLBH "in his heart" or BYDH "in his hand" I prefer correction of Y to BYDH. At the end of the line restore WYSBL... "He shall support" Ln 8: what TAD reads as 1 could just be an erasure. The end of the line expect LM, therefore ṬˁNY is not part of the speech. Briefly, Ln.19: LBŠY fits perfectly. I can show you digital reconstruction. Ln.20: One can restore any letter after QD… or QR… they prefer. (D and R are identical letters.) But QDŠ would probably not mean a building, but rather a person. As in Hebrew the term for sanctuary is MQDŠ, and is not attested in imperial Aramaic (only Qumran onward). IA prefers ˀGWR for the complex and BYT [X] (like BYT MDBḤH “altar house”) for the various buildings. If you restore Š you would need QDŠYˀ or QDŠYN and translate “(the) holy ones shall (re)build …” It’s not a bad idea. Typically one thinks of QDM “before” when they see QD… Ln24a: No, √ŠWH cannot mean sezten/legen in a literal sense. That would be √QWM, YŠB, or ŠYT (of a thing not a person). The basic meaning is to make X = Y. So, something like “A man shall install the sons of their lords [there]” Ln25: I think Porten may be following Cowely too closely here. The word looks much more ṬˁNY Wˀ[ZLY] “pick and g[o]! (fem.sing)” or the like. It could be “pick me up and …” but one would need to note the plural gods are saying in the singular “me”. Not impossible, but needs to be explained.
