Textual Notes
ln. 4: Check edition. see translation “q”
The fact that this is CV only is strange. The Egyptian character of the doc leads one to wonder if this belonged more to the Egyptian rather than Judean / Aramean sphere of documents.
The hand is close to Phoenician, the ח, א, and 𐡜 resemble Phoenician, though the other letters are Aramaic.
For סרנ see DNWSI p. 801 “sr2”. See Grelot, 158 n. e in reference to TAD A.2.4.6
אוא cf. Syr. ܐܘܐ “to agree (in content), to turn toward (in agreement).” Alternatively, it is an Egyptian word related to Ꜣ.w “to praise”, thus here
ritual-item.
ln. 4. Segal no. 52 (com. p. 74 n. 16) discusses how this word may be a measurement MD or an Egyptian vessel MR.
עבד א חמס the א is equally spaced and could go to either word. Both אחמס and חמס are otherwise not attested in Imperial Aramaic.
